Financial Education Resources
At ACCION USA, we realize that financial education greatly enhances the impact of each microloan we provide. Through financial education activities in each of our program offices and via our client Website, we provide business owners with the credit, money management, and small business fundamentals training needed to ensure long-term success. Since the launch of our financial education program in 2002, we have educated over 20,000 individuals through workshops and one-on-one counseling.
Meeting our borrowers' financial education needs
Our financial education programs are adapted to meet the needs of low-to-moderate income individuals who must balance work or their business, family, and education.
A wide variety of education options ensure that each borrower is provided with the opportunity to improve his or her knowledge:
- Workshops: Each of our program offices offers financial workshops on a variety of small business and credit related topics. Customized curriculums are designed by our financial education team, and instruction is provided by field staff.
- Mentoring and Networking: To help small business owners make professional connections that can be key to marketing strategies, we host networking and speed-coaching events where clients can receive one-on-one advice.
- Webinars: To meet the needs of borrowers who may not be able to travel to our offices because of distance or family commitments, we provide online Webinar format, to deliver our in-person workshop curriculum.
- Online Resources: Our staff maintains a library of online financial education resources, available to the community-at-large. There, small business owners can find detailed information about credit, money, and small business fundamentals in print and multimedia format.
