DANVERS, Mass. -- At the Green Elephant Toy Store in Danvers Center ‘Small Business Saturday' was a hit. The publicity and extra discounts surrounding the event encouraged residents to shop.

One shopper said she shops the big stores but she said she enjoys some advantages a neighborhood store can offer.

"It's close to my house. It's easy to get to, it's convenient. I love the fact that they have gift wrap so if I'm running here before a birthday party I just get my gifts wrapped and I'm all set," said the shopper.

Andrew Schylling opened the store two months ago after success with his first location in Ipswich.

He said he is thrilled when he hears that customers appreciate the personal touch.
