Fashion Meets Microfinance

ACCION USA's Microfinance Council will be hosting a wonderful evening of fashion, mingling, and cocktails. If you've ever thought of launching your own fashion line, starting your own business, or getting involved in microfinance, this is the event for you! Please come join us in a panel discussion about fashion, sustainability and finding the resources available to you through microfinance.

Panel Speakers include:
LEWAA ABDULK...HALEK - client of ACCION USA and founding partner of the Jillian Lewis brand, a wildly successful fashion line. Lewaa partnered with Bravo's Project Runway finalist, Jillian Lewis, to combine her vision of high-end women's wear with his business savvy. Lewaa's vision comes from a merchandising standpoint. His experience in fashion goes back 12 years and in 5 different countries including Gucci in Italy and Zara in Spain.

KIRAT ANAND- member of the microfinance council and a truly inspirational entrepreneur who launched KAS into the contemporary market in 2007. Kirat is just as unique as his brand, studying finance before entering the fashion industry with only the knowledge that was impressed upon him as a child. Today, his line is known for mixing sexy with sophistication to create a glamorous bohemian look.

SANDRA BAQUERO- Client of ACCION USA and Colombian born designer. Her collections are best described as cruise or resort wear. At the moment, the collections are entirely made in the U.S. Each Sandra Baquero collection offers her customers seasonless style, with the comfort and practicality, which can be worn from day into evening.
