Loan Officer, ACCION San Diego

Job Overview:

The Loan Officer works as part of the lending team managing their portfolio to increase sales, meet production goals, decrease delinquencies, and build solid client relationships to support the organization's goals and mission. In addition, this position focuses on generating leads through proactive outreach efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide prospective clients with information regarding the loan program.
  • Conduct site and collateral inspection visits at prospective client businesses.
  • Underwrite and prepare loan for review after loan packet is completed by the Customer Service Representative.
  • Participate in loan review.
  • Manage payment delinquencies, tracking and collection of payments.
  • Spend a minimum of 10 hours per week out of the office conducting block walking or referral source cultivation.
  • Manage client portfolio and answer any questions regarding client accounts.
  • Represent ACCION San Diego in the community (may require irregular hours).
  • Conduct other duties as necessary to meet goals of the lending team and organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Lending, underwriting and/or related business/finance experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
  • Strong financial, quantitative and computer skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • High-level of initiative and motivation.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Considerations: Must have ability to work some irregular hours and must have own transportation.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment: Work is generally performed in an office setting with a moderate noise level.
