Building Economic Opportunity

ACCION USA’s Building Economic Opportunity Campaign is the domestic component of ACCION International’s Helping Millions Help Themselves Campaign. As part of the larger worldwide effort, ACCION USA aims to raise $3 million in private donations over the next three years, to help extend services to those most underserved in this country. These donations will provide several advantages to ACCION USA, allowing it to:

  1. Leverage an additional $3.8 million in borrowed funds, for a total of $6.8 million in loan funds.
  2. Improve the ratio of private donations to borrowed funds in the ACCION USA Loan Fund, allowing ACCION USA to borrow money at a better rate and enabling greater self-sufficiency over time.
  3. Expand services to segments of the population for whom ACCION USA offers the first opportunity for traditional credit.

With $6.8 million additional dollars to lend, ACCION USA will be able to reach 7,500 microentrepreneurs over the next 10 years, enabling them to realize their dreams and positively impact their hardworking families for generations to come.
